Become a Rider

The Geared Up For Kids 2009 Ride is on Sunday, May 31, 2009 in Hingham MA! We would love for you to join our team as a rider—it is a fun, rewarding day. There are rides of 25 miles and 50 miles as well as a family ride of 10 miles. The 25 mile ride is very doable for most folks yet leaves you with a feeling of accomplishment. The 10 mile family ride allows you to take your older kids along for a rewarding experience and the entire 10 miles is within the beautiful state park. This year we are hosting the ride through the Pediatric Low Grade Astrocytoma Foundation (“PLGA”), the charitable foundation we helped start with other concerned families. Please note: This year's ride fundraising minimums are $250 for an adult rider and $100 for a child.  While these rider minimums are considered low by bike ride standards, we would be happy to direct donations to your ride in order for you or your family to fully participate.  Just let us know. Having our friends be able to be part of the day is most important to us.

Become a Virtual Rider

If you don’t live in the area or would just prefer to just raise funds rather than ride, please consider being a virtual rider. There are no rider minimums. You can sign up at the same rider website: Sign Up to be a Virtual Rider with Team TJ!

Virtual Rider Instructions are easy and are as follows:

  1. Simply begin the Rider Registration process at the Team TJ link above
  2. Click “I Agree” to the Waiver Agreement
  3. Then choose Join a Team and select Team TJ
  4. The first part of the registration form, under Personal Information, will ask you to indicate Virtual Rider. Click that radio button and continue from there.

Volunteer

Since our foundation is hosting this year’s ride we are going to need many more volunteers to both prepare for the ride and to help on the day of the ride. Learn More and Sign Up to Volunteer for Team TJ.
